Dr. Anna Gueorguieva

Anna Gueorguieva is an economist and sustainability leader with more than 20 years driving climate finance, sustainability data, and ESG strategy across public institutions and private markets, translating complex environmental and economic dynamics into investable strategy for governments, asset managers, and development finance institutions.

She spent 18 years as a Senior Economist and Task Team Leader at the World Bank, working at the intersection of environment and economic development. There she established and led the Bank's Climate Task Force, increasing climate finance by 37% across a $5B regional portfolio and directly managing more than $1.5B in sustainability and infrastructure investments. She earned four Vice Presidential Awards for Outstanding Achievement and contributed to 45+ peer-reviewed publications.

As Climate Lead at Bridge Investment Group, part of Apollo Global Management, she drove decarbonization strategy and sustainability reporting across a $49B portfolio aligned with ISSB/TCFD, SASB, and the GHG Protocol. She improved climate-ordinance compliance by 133%, lifted portfolio sustainability scores 11% annually, and authored the firm's inaugural TCFD report.

Today, as Chief Sustainability Officer at GreeniumDC Consult, she advises clients and climate-technology start-ups on AI-powered carbon accounting, ESG data platforms, and regulatory compliance across CDP, the EU's CSRD/ESRS, and emerging U.S. state Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) rules.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in Economics from the American University in Bulgaria.
