Dr. Vasanth N. Mohan

Dr. Vasanth N. Mohan is an Investment Professional at Shukr Investments, a leading public equities manager specializing in global equities.  Prior to joining Shukr in 2021, he spent over 10 years on the sell-side and buy-side in the Bay Area, New York, and Abu Dhabi at leading firms such as GMO, Piper Jaffray, and Morgan Stanley.  Before embarking on his career in tech, Vasanth spent 6 years as a laboratory graduate fellow at Argonne National Laboratory, where he conducted his doctoral research on high-temperature superconductors, earning his PhD in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (from the Illinois Institute of Technology). Vasanth’s industry experience includes senior technologist roles at Honeywell and Applied Materials, with a focus on materials science and semiconductor processing.  Vasanth transitioned to finance in 2008 after obtaining his MBA from the Haas School of Business, graduating as a Haas Community Fellow.   He now leverages his technology and finance expertise to evaluate stocks in multiple sectors, particularly those that are disrupted by advances in semiconductors and AI.Vasanth holds two patents in semiconductor processing and has authored more than a dozen papers on high-temperature superconductors in peer-reviewed journals.  For the past 20 years,  Vasanth has been mentoring early-stage start-ups and students seeking careers in technology, finance, and sustainability.
