Ambassador Dinkar Srivastava
Former Indian Ambassador | India-Red Sea Relations
Dinkar Srivastava is a former senior Indian diplomat with extensive experience across the Middle East, having served in Cairo, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Tripoli. As India's Ambassador to Iran (2011–2015), he negotiated the MOU for Indian participation in Chabahar port. He also served as Ambassador to Libya and the Czech Republic and as India's High Commissioner to Malta, with additional postings in Washington and Brussels, as well as eight years at the United Nations. Beyond diplomacy, Srivastava has deep expertise in energy. He served on the Board of Directors of Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) from 2017 to 2020, as Senior Advisor to ONGC Videsh Limited, and on the Board of India Ports Global Ltd. (2017–2021). He is the author of Forgotten Kashmir: The Other Side of the Line of Control (Bloomsbury) and Pakistan: Ideologies, Strategies, and Interests (Bloomsbury, 2025). He speaks Hindi, Arabic, French, and Farsi.
