Dr. Guilain Denoeux

Professor of Government, Colby College
Dr. Guilain Denoeux is Professor of Government at Colby College and an international development practitioner with over 30 years of public-policy experience. As consultant to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the former USAID, and the Department of State, he led teams tasked with policy-oriented field research across the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast and Southwest Asia, the Caucasus, the Balkans, and Southeastern Europe. He has briefed senior USG staff in Washington, DC as well as abroad, including in Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Madagascar, the Maldives, Mauritania, Mali, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Romania, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Tunisia. He has authored over 180 field research reports and desk studies for the U.S. foreign policy community. His professional interests include political risk analysis, applied political economy, conflict and extremism assessments, development assistance, and program or project evaluations. His scholarly work has appeared in several books as well as in Middle East Policy, Comparative Politics, the Journal of North African Studies, Maghreb-Machrek, Politique Internationale, and Arabies.
