Sara Olsen founded SVT Group in 2001 on a conviction that investors serious about changing the world deserve to know not just how much they've spent, but how much has actually changed. She built SVT into the first impact management advisory firm of its kind—a certified B Corporation named six times "Best for the World" and twice honored by Bloomberg Businessweek as one of America's Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs.
For over two decades, Olsen has helped governments, investors, and enterprises large and small translate complex social and environmental dynamics into actionable strategy. SVT has designed impact measurement systems for over $10 billion in assets across 170+ projects spanning Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and beyond. With the Environmental Investment Advisor to CalPERS, she co-created the performance reporting system for the first environmental private equity initiative of a U.S. public pension fund—ultimately representing $600 million in fund assets. Other clients include Techstars, LKK Group's venture fund, and the world's third most-visited website.
