Dr. Sarah Deardorff Miller
Expert Advisor on Refugee, Migration & Humanitarian Issues
Dr. Sarah Deardorff Miller is an expert on refugee, migration and humanitarian issues. She holds a doctorate in international relations from Oxford University, and teaches courses on displacement and humanitarian response at Georgetown University. Dr. Miller is also a senior fellow at Refugees International, a US-based organization, where she conducts research and advocacy on labor market access for refugees, internal displacement, the global refugee regime and protracted displacement. She has worked with various non-profits and think tanks around the world, focusing much of her research and work on the Horn of Africa. She has published books, articles, reports and opinion pieces on the politics of forced migration, humanitarian response, and the global refugee regime. In addition to her doctorate, she holds graduate degrees from Oxford University and the University of Chicago, and an undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University.
