Sherif Dhaimish
Sherif Dhaimish is a publisher and writer with over twelve years of experience spanning the editorial and commercial sides of publishing. He is Sales Director at Kulturalis, the London-based publisher of fine illustrated books for museums and cultural institutions, where he leads development across Asia, the Middle East and Africa. From the Gulf to Southeast Asia, he works with these institutions to build publishing programmes and carry major collections to international audiences through ACC Art Books' global distribution.
He is also founder and director of Pendle Press, the independent Lancashire imprint he co-founded in 2021 to champion heritage and the voices the mainstream tends to overlook. His earlier career includes long tenures at Darf Publishers and Medina / Arabian Publishing, giving him a deep working knowledge of publishing across the Arab world, and he has collaborated with some of the UK's most innovative independent publishers along the way. He regularly chairs panels and presents at industry events.
Sherif is a published author and journalist in his own right. He wrote A Libyan Artist in Exile (Pendle Press, 2021), a portrait of the late satirist and his father Hasan 'Alsatoor' Dhaimish, and co-authored How You Make Me Feel: The Life and Legacy of Marcus Intalex (Velocity Press, 2024). His work has also appeared in numerous publications. He holds a BA in Communications from the University of Leeds and an MA in Critical Methodologies from King's College London.
